
ลerife Ay, a 92-year-old woman from Ormanlฤฑ, Zonguldak, was admitted to the hospital on February 5 after experiencing abdominal pain and vomiting following her husband's death. Upon examination at Zonguldak Bรผlent Ecevit University Hospital, a tomography revealed foreign objects in her stomach and intestines. Due to elevated blood values, she underwent surgery, which revealed a 4-centimeter stone blocking her small intestine, leading to decay and perforation. Surgeons removed the damaged sections and extracted 28 date seeds, 35 olive pits, and 5 stones formed from hardened date seeds. After about 2 hours of surgery and a 5-day stay in intensive care, Ay is now recovering well and regaining her health.
