Afrikaner groups in South Africa have turned down President Trump's offer of refugee status for white South Africans who claim to be facing persecution. They reaffirmed their desire to remain in South Africa, highlighting their dedication to their homeland despite the difficulties they encounter.

Trump's criticism is directed at a new law permitting the South African government to seize property without compensation under specific conditions deemed to be in the public interest.

Afrikaners are a Southern African ethnic group primarily descended from Dutch settlers who arrived at the Cape of Good Hope in 1652.

The country was governed by a white-supremacist apartheid regime led by an Afrikaner nationalist party until 1994.

Currently, white South Africans own two-thirds of the farmland and, on average, earn three times more than their black counterparts.
